I love this tree. However, I am looking for a tree that would grow well next to a sidewalk in my front yard. Currently, the Maple I have there is bringing up the sidewalk. Would I have the same problem with the SkylandsYour input would be greatly appreciated.Mary
i bought my 6 foot skylands spruce for 150.00 my local nursery. it was markd down from 300.00 plus dollaRS. iT IS LOVELY ,. i BOUGHT IT TO BE OUR cHRISTMAS TREE WITH THE IDEA I WOULD PLANT IT OUTSIDE IN A SPECIAL PLACE RIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS. iI AM PRAYING THAT IT WILL TAKE THE PLANTING WELL SINCE THE GROUND IS ALREADY COLD.WILL THIS SPRUCE SURVIVE HOT SUMMER SUN FOR MOST OF THE DAY OR SHOULD I FIND A MORE PROTECTED SPOT
I would put it in a slightly protected location. Also I would make sure not to have it in the house for more than just a couple days. Move it in and out of the house gradually so to not shock the plant with extreme heat or extreme cold. You may want to pre dig your hole as well or have some dry topsoil ready for planting. Mulch well immediatly after planting.Steve
