Height x width: Some dwarf strains are no more than 6 inches tall; old-fashioned bedding strains are about 2 feet tall.
Growth habit: Upright.
Foliage: Alternate, simple, ovate-lanceolate to 2 inches long, strongly veined
Flowers: Celosia has evolved into numerous forms, including the Cristata group with bizarre wavy crests of fused flower stalks in a range of hot colors and the Plumosa group with erect, plume-like heads (see below) that are also available in many colors. Differences among groups occur in the structure of the heads of the small flowers, which have undergone proliferation and deformation. Blooms from early summer to fall.
Culture: Heat tolerant; grow in full sun and well-drained soil
