From Question and Answer Forums: What are others saying about this plant?
I was wondering where I could purchase this plant. Thanks, Patrick
I work with a group called the Fauna Foundation in Carignan on the south shore of Montreal. We have 200 acre farm which is a refuge for abused and abandoned animals. We have a large mostly hickory forest Shagbark and Bitternut on the property and I believe we may have a Laneys Hickory. Hybrids of any kind can have physical characteristics that lean towards one or the other of the parents, they are rarely a 50/50 split. In our case, the bark is very much bitternut but the fruit, though having the bitternut form, are easily 3 times the normal size and the and the difference is due to a very thick husk that is so typical of the shagbark fruit. Any comments from readers would be gratefully received.
