From Question and Answer Forums: What are others saying about this plant?
My plant is at least 10 years old and in good health. My house location is in SE Kettering. Often this plant keeps its burgundy color until August. It often turns orange, red, and predominantly yellow in the fall. The bloom does seem to be a little more red than the native redbud I have planted 30 away from it. They are often in bloom at the same time. This plant seems to be brittle and branches can be broken easily. However, it has not suffered from storms, just careless mowing.
Does this tree canadensis have a small root structure. The location I am considering has a water line and sanitary line about 8 to 10 away. Those utility lines are also about 6 to 8 deep. Thanks,Mark
