Notes: Foliage: Basal rosettes of bristly-edged, sword-shaped, leaves at base. Upper leaves clasping, pinnate, spinose-toothed. Flowers: Heads are ovoid-globose, blue. Subtended by long, lanceolate bracts. Culture: Full sun and prefers well-drained, sandy soil. Plants tend to sprawl or rot if over-fertilized or grown in the shade. Self seeds.
