Growth habit: Upright mounds
Foliage: Succulent, fleshy, gray-green leaves
Flowers: In late summer to late fall the plant produces pink, red or white flowers in large, dense cymes 3 to 6 inches across; the dried flowerheads remain interesting through winter
Culture: Full sun. Very drought tolerant; grows in well-drained, poor or stony soils
Uses: Rock gardens, borders as a single specimen plant or in groups of 3 or more. The flowers attract butterflies
Propagation: Cuttings, division
Cultivars: ‘Autumn Joy’ is a hardy, upright selection that has light green leaves and deep rose flowers which age to a beautiful bronze.
‘Metrona’, succulent, grey-purple foliage adorns the 2 foot, shiny burgundy stems that are topped in late summer with large, pale pink flower heads
‘Chocolate’ - Deep chocolate brown foliage and cheerful pink flowers with reddish centres in mid smmer
